Endurance is an important fitness ability to develop for many different reasons. There's more to endurance than long gym exercise sessions .Endurance development can translate into "real" daily living benefits.

Why is cardio endurance so important?

Endurance is an important ability to have so that we can perform our best everyday, this is called, "efficiency". Efficiency is being able to walk longer, move faster, hold objects better, and breathe easier, amongst other things we do. Time is also a factor when we talk about endurance; how long can something be done over time. For exercise, an idea is that some people want to know how long they can exercise over a certain amount of time. Others wonder how long they can exercise before feeling tired and later stopping. In both circumstances, the people are questioning their endurance.

How much cardio should you be doing?

There are many different schedules that cardio exercise can fit into. But, sometimes a busy schedule doesn't allow cardio to be an option, due to a lack of convenience. So to better understand what is good for you, it's good to know how much exercise is recommended by fitness professional. It has been recommend that 150 minutes per week (2 hours, 30 minutes) of moderate-intensity cardio activity (sometimes called "aerobic") be spread throughout the week

If you have a busier schedule, 75 minutes ( 1 hour, 15 minutes) per week of vigorous cardio activity can be performed over a weeks time. The higher intensity means that you can workout in smaller groups of time more energetically to meet the same fitness goals you set for yourself. You can dedicate less time per week,( of course, with a good diet), to feel healthy.

What type of cardio is good to do?

There are many, many cardio exercises that we can perform daily or weekly. They help us keep a fit appearance and good physical conditioning. Below is a small list of many types of cardio exercises that you can do.

  • Jump Rope.

  • Dancing

  • Organized Sports

  • Power Walking

  • Swimming

  • Boxing

  • Trampoline jumping

  • Cycling.

  • Running

  • Jogging

  • Walking

  • HIIT (High intensity Interval Training)

Bottomline

Cardio exercise is excellent method of exercise to pursue endurance. No matter what type of cardio exercise that you decide to do, it will be ideal to pursue the exercise that best fits into your schedule. Whether it's 75-minutes per week or 150-minutes per week, endurance training offers you many benefits.
